Thankfulness!

I hope everyone has had a joyful thanksgiving! I have enjoyed spending time with friends and family today! My husband and I were talking about what we are thankful for! We named one thing in each category and I wanted to share what I am most thankful for this Thanksgiving!

1. Frivilous category ~ My camera! Not only do I get to document and be a part of creating memories for you but I also get to record memories for my family and that brings me great joy and thankfulness!

2. Personal Category ~ My family! Seriously I love these two!

And here is one of my and my girl

3. Spiritual Category ~ I am thankful for Jesus Christ living perfectly on my behalf! This verse sums it up!

For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. (II Corinthians 5:21)

Hope you have had a chance to reflect on what you are thankful for this Thanksgiving!

18 Months

It is incredibly hard to believe that my baby is 18 months old and really she is no longer a baby! I am not sure about your neck of the woods but here it has been cold and rainy most of the week. A few of you know that because I have had to reschedule sessions. Well it dried up and the sun even came out Thursday afternoon so I decided to attempt Miss K's 18 month portraits. It's hard enough to be a mommy a photo session, it is even harder playing mom and photographer at the same time. We got a few cute shots but I think I will try again this week if I can squeeze her in :) I also plan to take daddy with us because well she really likes her daddy and smiles at him like no one else!!! Anyway here are a few that I like!

(yes like most moms I had a change of outfit for her :) )

She has two top teeth coming in so his hand is constantly in her mouth! (thanks to grandma and aunt Kellie for the outfit!!)

This is totally her right now!!! PERSONALITY!!!!

My husband and I both like this one, so if we don't make it out again this might be the "one"

Thanks for letting the mommy in me oogle!

Hello!

Yes, yes I do still blog and yes yes I am alive. I figured an update was do. I have had a lot on my mind lately so this might be sort of a ramble. Life is busy as it generally is. I thought I was on top of it all until I showed up to the doctors office today and Kyla's appointment is tomorrow. Talk about feeling like a fool. Well I did!

That's right she is 18 months old! I guess the old saying time flies when you are having fun rings true in this instance as well. Kyla is growing in wisdom and stature all the time. She amazes me daily on what she knows and also what she tries to get by with because she is so darn cute! There is no denying that she (like the rest of us) is a little sinner!!! She can tell you a few animal sounds, some of them she gets a little mixed up. For example, when you ask her what a puppy says she replies with a simple "shhhhhh" with her finger over her lips. Why does she do that you may be asking.... well thanks to nana telling her puppy to "shhhh" all the time Miss K thinks that is what a puppy says! Her favorite animal sound at this time is a duck, it says "CACK" very loudly usually! She knows a kitty cat says "meow", and that a cow goes "mooo", and my personal favorite is the elephant "phsss" with slobber going everywhere. She is a blessing in deed!

Things are going well for Justin and I. We are plugging right a long getting ready for the holidays! I was thinking about Christmas presents today and I realized I need to sit down and make a list so that I can get on the ball with what I want to make!!! Photography is going well I am staying busy and loving it! Thankful God has blessed me with this opportunity at this time!!

Last night I had the opportunity to finish up Philippians 4:10-23 for our ladies Bible Study. Our leader was sick and she asked me to fill in for her. I always enjoy teaching but this lesson hit home for me. I used the John McArthur commentary and he listed 5 principles of contentment that we can learn from Paul. I want to share them with you so that you might be encouraged!
1. A Content Person Is Confident In God's Providence
2. A Content Person Is Satisfied With Little
3. A Content Person Is Independent From Circumstances
4. A Content Person Is Strengthened By Divine Power
5. A Content Person Is Preoccupied With The Well-Being Of Others

There is a little food for thought for your day! I want to leave you with the Valley of Vision Prayer. This is something I have been pondering lately!

Lord, high and holy, meek and lowly, Thou hast brought me to the valley of vision, where I live in the depths but see Thee in the heights; hemmed in by mountains of sin I behold Thy glory. Let me learn by paradox that the way down is the way up, that to be low is to be high, that the broken heart is the healed heart, that the contrite spirit is the rejoicing spirit, that the repenting soul is the victorious soul, that to have nothing is to possess all, that to bear the cross is to wear the crown, that to give is to receive, that the valley is the place of vision. Lord, in the daytime stars can be seen from deepest wells, and the deeper the wells the brighter Thy stars shine; let me find Thy light in my darkness, Thy life in my death, Thy joy in my sorrow, Thy grace in my sin, Thy riches in my poverty, Thy glory in my valley.

Yesterday I had the opportunity to do my first session with three children and their families from Mended Little Hearts (http://www.mendedhearts.org/mlh/frame-mlh.htm). The three "heart" kiddos were an absolute blast to photograph! Seeing their smiling faces reminded me that life is precious and is meant to be enjoyed! I was so blessed by God to be able to do this session and I wanted to share their beautiful smiling faces with you! Thanks again for the opportunity to photograph your kiddos!!

Silly Face and Crazy Hair

Yesterday we pretty much piddled around the house! There was no need to fix Kyla's hair! It usually is curly when I wet it with water. When I don't it just looks like it did the day before but bigger!! She had a pony tail the day before and she made her hair flat from all the rolling around and playing she does. This was the result...

For a few months she has been making a silly face. You have to be quick to see it because all she does is blink real fast and squeeze her eyes and smile real big! It's enough to warm even the coldest heart!

In other news, I finally have a new logo that I really like! (Probably because I didn't design it!) I have also updated my website some so check it out if you like...

He Loves Me

This afternoon I was sitting at the computer and Kyla was playing and I heard someone trying to get in the door. It took me a second to realize they were using a key!!! Justin was suppose to be at work and he never comes home so I wasn't sure what was going on. I peeked out the window and saw Justin's truck and decided to let him in. When I open the door he is standing there looking handsome like his normal self and has a DOZEN roses in his hands. I repeat dozen! I was shocked and not really sure what to say!

He was out running and errand and decided to take a break and buy my flowers and deliver them! Now this might be normal for most of you ladies out there but I RARELY get flowers. I think maybe 4-5 times in the 7 years we have been together. Her pretty much caught me off gaurd! Needless to say I had to go buy a vase! I wish I could send smells over the internet because they are lovely!

Here are a few pics I snapped of the beautiful red roses! I am a lucky girl (not just because of the roses!!)

So I think...

I am a coffee drinker?!?!

Now to some of you that might not be a big deal but it is to me! I have always loved the smell of GOOD coffee but never the taste. Well this summer I have drank blended coffee like it is going out of style. However it was hurting the ole pocket book. so I decided I can do this myself. I bought some coffee. For you coffee lovers I didn't buy my own bean and I went kinda cheap since I wasn't sure if it would be any good. So I bought Eight O'Clock Coffee french vanilla flavor.

So I dug out the coffee pot (it was in the deep dark corner under the sink) and put it to use. I made my very first (maybe 2nd at the most) pot of coffee. I tried it hot and well maybe when weather gets cold I can! The recipe tells you to freeze the coffe but I am way to impatient for that... so I just added ice. Frozen coffee cubes would be way better but I am still enjoying it! I am on my second cup and it is 8:00 pm! I am sure its going to be a late night!!

Here is the recipe if you like: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Iced-Mochas/Detail.aspx?prop31=1

Home and HOME

There is always something about going home that I love. Perhaps it is my moms biscuits and gravy or my dads big glass sitting next to his chair. Mainly it is the overwhelming since of love that my family has for Justin, myself and Kyla!

Our visit this time was probably one of the most relaxing. Justin spent 3 days on the lake, and I spent a few hours in the pool and Kyla well she was just the spoiled grandchild the whole time ;) just kidding she was really great while we were gone.

We didn't see everyone we generally see but it was a nice time of relaxing and enjoying family. Sometimes I will call my mom and her and grandma will be out to lunch and to be honest I get a little jealous. So it was nice that me and Kyla got to go with them one day for lunch. We got to meet our newest cousin and I got a great shot of him with grandpa!

Another great thing was the Tulsa Zoo. We went and had a good time. It was STINKIN hot the whole time and Kyla was so over the zoo by the time we got to the africa side of the Zoo. But hey thats okay!

I also got to go to a photography conference while I was home. It was very beneficial and I am still soaking everything in!

Here are a few picture of our trip:
